Growing up amid the vibrant musical tapestry of Brooklyn, NY, Fonseca 72 earliest memories resonate with Motown, Disco, R&B, and the guitar riffs of Prince. His musical journey kicked off in the ’80s rock and heavy metal scene, where he embraced the electric guitar, played in local bands, and honed his skills in composition and performance.
Fueled by curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, he delved into sound engineering at Miami-Dade College. The convergence of the underground rave scene in Tampa and the fusion of rock with electronic elements sparked his vision. Inspired by acts like NIN, Daft Punk, and The Prodigy, he found a bridge between his rock roots, love for live instruments, and the allure of dance music.
His transition into DJ’ing marked a pivotal moment, leading to the formation of The Digital Pimps and the release of breakbeat and tech-house records. Relocating to New York City in 2004 opened doors to diverse collaborations as a producer, songwriter, and remixer across multiple genres.
Fonseca 72’s evolution embraces influences from ‘rock, funk, metal, electronic and pop music, and then infusing them together with a flair.
