His journey began in the heart of the ’80s rock and heavy metal scene, where he first picked up the electric guitar, performing in local bands and developing a deep-rooted passion for songwriting and live performance.
Eager to expand his musical toolbox, Fonseca 72 pursued sound engineering at Miami-Dade College, sharpening his technical skills and unlocking new creative possibilities. A pivotal moment came during his time in Tampa, where the underground rave culture collided with his rock sensibilities. Influenced by the boundary-pushing sounds of Nine Inch Nails, Daft Punk, and The Prodigy, Fonseca 72 began to fuse electronic energy with organic instrumentation—crafting a style that lives between analog soul and digital fire.
His transition into DJ’ing marked a pivotal moment, leading to the formation of The Digital Pimps and the release of breakbeat and tech-house records. Relocating to New York City in 2004 opened doors to diverse collaborations as a producer, songwriter, and remixer across multiple genres.
Today, Fonseca 72 continues to explore this intersection as the co-writer, producer, and guitarist for the genre-blurring band They Call Her Heaven, blending gritty guitar work with immersive electronic textures. Whether on stage or in the studio, he channels decades of musical evolution into every riff, beat, and sonic experiment.
